2024 USAT NATIONAL TEAM TRIALS

G-Force sent 6 athletes to USA Taekwondo Team Trials - and 3 are returning home as Team USA members!

Also, many congratulations to Raul Gonzalez on his BRONZE medal in Juniors -68kg, Taylor Jo Gavin for her hard earned SILVER in Cadet -51kg, and Jonathan Wang for fighting his way to the Junior -63kg quarterfinals.


GAU OPEN

Three athletes attended the GAU Training Camp and Open Tournament in Coppell Texas.

This was a great opportunity for our athletes to work with members of Spain’s Olympic Sparring Team, Hankuk - including the 2020 Olympic Silver Medalist Adriana Cerezo as well as many of the top ranked athletes from all across the United States.

Canada Open

Naomi Alade, who is also a member of the AAU TOPS Team, traveled to Vancouver with TOPS to compete in the 2024 Canada Open.

The Canada Open is an annual event and this year’s Kyorugi (sparring) competition hosted 550 athletes representing over 37 different countries.

2024 US OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Texas G-Force attended the 2024 US Open February 16-18 with 10 athletes and returned home with 8 medals, resulting in the best overall medal performance in G-Force team history!

The US Open welcomed over 1600 registered athletes representing more than 80 different countries, and is considered the largest international taekwondo event held in the United States.


PRESIDENT’S CUP

2024 PATU PRESIDENT’S CUP

Four athletes traveled to Costa Rica for the 2024 President’s Cup and delivered outstanding performances, bringing home 4 medals!

While Naomi and Joshua will already be attending the upcoming Pan Am Championships as members of Team USA, Taylor’s Gold medal at this year’s President’s Cup won her a wild card to attend the Championships as well! Congratulations Taylor!

TEXAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2024 USAT Texas State Championships was a qualifying event for the upcoming USAT Nationals. In order to qualify, competitors had to win Gold.

G-Force qualified 5 athletes!

This tournament also hosted the Texas State Taekwondo Association Team Trials for Juniors and Seniors.  Eric Morgan fought in a combined division of -68kg to -73kg, defeated his opponent , and secured the team spot! 

2024 WORLD OPEN

2024 SENIOR PAN AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

REGION 9 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Sofia Palmer and Taylor Jo Gavin traveled to San Luis Petosi, Mexico for the 15th Annual training camp and World Open Tournament.  Both athletes competed as Cadets on Saturday, winning all of their matches, and on Sunday they fought in the older division as Juniors, to gain additional experience with older competitors. Although neither won their matches, they both returned home as Champions!

La Loma High Performance Altitude Training Center was host to more than 1,000 athletes representing over 18 countries.  G-Force is very proud of Sofia and Taylor for not only representing their home team, but for representing the United States as 2024 AAU National Team members!

2024 SENIOR PAN AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

The Senior Pan Am Championships held in Rio de Janeiro this year hosted the top senior athletes in our continental region.  Naomi Alade attended this prestigious event, representing Team USA‘s Senior Taekwondo National Team.


Naomi Alade (Seniors) +73kg - SILVER


At 16 years old, Naomi continues to show dominance in the ring.  Moving up in age divisions from Juniors to Seniors is giving her more valuable experience with with an increased level of competition.  She won her opening match against a Brazilian competitor and continued to dominate throughout her semi-final match against Mexico.  Although she didn’t win her final match versus Columbia, Naomi was quite impressive!

USAT WEST REGIONAL QUALIFIER

Seven G-Force members traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the USAT West Regional Grand Prix event, and returned home with five medals!

All medalists above not only qualified for USAT Nationals in July, but will be invited to compete at the the USAT Final Grand Prix in Tulsa, OK in September.

Addison Anglada and Drake Vitelli also participated in this Regional event, qualifying for USAT Nationals as well.

Three G-Force athletes had the opportunity to travel and attend the Lux Open this June, gaining excellent experience competing with high level athletes from all over the world.

The Luxembourg Open welcomed over 1300 athletes, including past Olympic, World and European champions, and many current 2024 Paris Olympians!  Participating in events such as this, is great preparation for the upcoming US National Championships.

Cadets and Juniors that medal at AAU Nationals are qualified and invited to the AAU Junior Olympics to compete at Team Trials, with the goal of winning and becoming 2024/2025 National Team Members. This year we have six athletes qualified!  This team is outstanding and had phenomenal results at Nationals! We could not be more proud of them all!

2024 USAT Nationals was held in Ft Worth, TX.  Eight of our athletes managed to compete at both National events, but we had 9 total attend USAT.  Of the 9 that competed, 7 G-Force members are returning home USAT National Medalists!  Congratulations G-Force!

This year was tough having both Nationals within the same week, and while some athletes were in Florida, others were in Texas.  The perseverance of this team was unwavering and they did not let logistics hold them back or distract them from their ultimate goal.  Excellent work G-Force!

2024 CADET AND JUNIOR PAN AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2024 Cadet and Junior Pan American Championships were held in Queretaro Mexico.  This championship event hosted the top youth athletes from the entire Western hemisphere.  G-Force had three National Team members and one Wild Card athlete representing the USA - and all four returned home medalists!

USA dominated this event, winning Best Team, Best Athletes, Best Coaches… and we are so proud to have had four G-Force athletes represent the United States!


2024 AAU TEAM TRIALS

G-Force had six athletes qualify for AAU Team Trials this year.  Five were able to attend and compete at the Junior Olympics Team Trial event in Greensboro, NC. and FOUR athletes medaled!

2024 JUNIOR WORLDS

2024 JUNIOR WORLDS

Siblings, Naomi and Joshua Alade represented the 

 United States at the Junior World Championships in Chuncheon South Korea.  As Team USA Members, Naomi and Joshua have had multiple experiences at such high level competitions.  The Junior World Championships occurs every other year, where the top athletes across the globe compete for the title of World Champion.  Naomi earned Silver after defeating Algeria, Brazil, Serbia and Belarus.  Joshua had a very tough match against a fighter from Azerbaijan, where he fought well, but after three rounds, was sadly eliminated.

Team USA went to Worlds with 20 athletes and returned home with only ONE medal - NAOMI’S!

Congratulations to both Joshua and Naomi.  G-Force Achieve admires their commitment and hard work, and is very proud of them!

2024 DRACULA OPEN ROMANIA

G-Force athlete and AAU National Team Member Taylor Jo Gavin traveled to Romania with the AAU National Team for this event, as well as G-Force member Addison Anglada.  Both girls faced tough opponents and really fought well!  Addison’s first match against a determined Italian fighter went three rounds, but the win went to Italy.  Taylor Jo had three matches, winning the first two - but unfortunately fell short in her third.
